Most roads open for light vehicles
After the snow cut off traffic on several major roads yesterday afternoon, the situation this morning is somewhat improved. The Kicevo - Gostivar road is open for traffic, after the long delays at the Straza mountain pass yesterday. It was closed for trucks and other heavy vehicles until this morning, as was the road from Kriva Palanka to the Deve Bair crossing with Bulgaria. The Skopje - Stip highway is open on the east-bound lane, but the Stip - Skopje lane is closed because of snow and ice. Over 2,000 calls for emergency assistance were received yesterday across the country - twice more than the daily average.
